As I get older

Image Description
As I get older As I get older,
I will be a year older in ten days
The more thinking that I do,
I think of the friends and family that has gone before,
As I get older, I think about those that I’ve been good to,
Who has denied me and turned their backs
And if tears could tell stories,
The stories would talk about the pain that I have suffered
As I get older, the Jamaican saying, “every kin teeth a no laugh,”
Rings truer and truer

As I get older,
I realize that life can be gone in the blink of an eye
So I need to do all the living I can do,
with the people that loves me and the ones that I love,
the ones that have my back, not the jokers who don’t

As I get older my circle gets smaller,
The many, many friends have somehow eliminated themselves
And I am happy with the ones that I have got.
As I get older, I pray more than once per day
Thank you Jesus for taking me this far,
I am thankful.
I laugh a lot and I laugh loudly
And I don’t give damn about what they say
I just know I have my life to be thankful for
And to keep loving the life I live.
